A few years ago, the school where I work decided to change its Alma Mater because nobody could remember the tune, and much less the words. There was a contests and, what do you know, I won (against very little competition, truth be said). Read on to see the words and hear the music of "IIT, You Mean to Me" (or, "IIT, you're mean to me," as most people sing it). You can hear the music by clicking the little player below the words.

IIT, you mean to me

IIT, you mean to me
the joy that I feel to learn, to love and live.
IIT, you mean to me
the future that I will build.

In America's own heartland there's a school
that transformed our highest dreams into our tools.
In your halls we learned to see everything that we could be.
We will sing our Alma Mater to the full.

IIT, you mean to me
the joy that I feel to learn, to love and live.
IIT, you mean to me
the future that I will build.

We have come from many nations, great and small
and you taught us to pursue the highest goal.
In your halls we learned to see everything that we could be,
that is why we sing today for IIT.
